New 'Enid Blyton for Grown Ups' titles - details
/There'll be new 'Enid Blyton for Grow Ups' titles this year - something to cheer about for spoof-lovers, none-too-precious fans of Blyton classics, and (potentially) children across the land. Children specifically perhaps, because the new titles include two conjured up as gifts for Mums and Dads.
Yep, last year saw the publication of several of the new Five... titles. Written by Bruno Vincent, they were Five Give Up the Booze, Five Go Gluten Free, Five Go Parenting and Five Go On A Strategy Away Day. We won't talk about Five on Brexit Island...it might get ugly. Now the series publisher, Quercus, has announced three more: Five Forget Mothers' Day, Five Lose Dad in the Garden Centre and Five Get Beach Body Ready.
Cunningly, Five Forget mother's Day should be with us this month (one whole month before Mother's Day itself...best not take the title literally eh?). That leaves Five Lose Dad in the Garden Centre to arrive in May - again ample time before Father's Day - and Five Get Beach Body ready arriving in June. Hopefully the last is one to read on actual beaches under actual sunshine, or at the very least somewhere dry. Each of the new titles will arrive in hardback, and will be priced at £7.99.
Need to know when they're out, or just want to know a little bit more? Details are below the break.

- Five Forget Mothers' Day (Available: 23rd February)
"George is on thin ice having forgotten her mum’s birthday and Christmas presents, so tensions are running high... But things go from bad to worse when Fanny comes to stay, with relations strained almost to breaking point. Can the Five save the day, and will Uncle Quentin get involved?"
- Five Lose Dad in the Garden Centre (Available: 18th May)
"...what promised to be a relaxed outing turns into a nightmare when Quentin disappears into thin air."
- Five Get Beach Body Ready (Available: 1st June)
"All it will take is a bit of effort and willpower ...and pulling together as a team. What could possibly stand in their way?"
