Deliveroo delivers books? It does now
/DELIVEROO delivering books? Yep, it looks like it, at least in some areas.
The fast-food delivery saviour…sorry, online food delivery company, could be bringing you hot plots and tasty titles from now on, as it teams up with WH Smith to offer more than your favourite foods.
As reported by Yahoo Business, books will be part of a range of products being made available for delivery to homes - from WH Smith via Deliveroo.
Although the latest reads are clearly the menu item we’re choosing to celebrate.
Alongside the latest must-read tomes and best-sellers, customers will also be able to order various stationary, earphones (useful for audiobook emergencies of course), printer ink and children’s study guides.
Not to mention cards, phone chargers and more.
Speaking about the partnership, WH Smith’s MD of High Street business, Sean Toal, said:
“We’re really excited to be partnering with Deliveroo for this trial which will complement our existing offer and enable our customers to receive the products that they want and need from us as fast as possible from their local store direct to their door.”
The partnership begins this week, and will initially include deliveries from ten stores, which are:
Reading (from March 29th)
Brighton (w/c April 4th)
Cambridge (w/c April 4th)
Guildford (w/c April 4th)
Leeds (w/c April 4th)
Oxford (w/c April 4th)
St Albans (w/c April 4th)
Chiswick, London (TBC)
Muswell Hill, London (TBC)
Richmond, London (TBC)
We hope that such a useful collaboration by Deliveroo and WH Smith can expand across the UK in the near future.
Books delivered inside an hour is brilliant, but also incredibly useful.
Particularly so for those unable or less inclined to make it to the local bookshop - be that a WH Smith or any other outlet.
